charming art deco gem

the staff were helpful and accommodating . i received a complimentary room upgrade, a lovely surprise (thanks to larissa and the team!). the hotel is also tucked away from the main avenue.

the tv channel selection was limited, and i couldn't find any dvds to use with the dvd player. i also noticed there were no plugs or a table next to one side of the bed, a bit inconvenient.

breakfast included a nice selection of good quality items. smaller portions were put out and replenished frequently, ensuring freshness. coffee was also served at the table each morning.

the entire staff was friendly and accommodating, from the front desk to the kitchen staff. larissa at the front desk helped arrange a wonderful dinner at a fado restaurant. the staff always opened doors.

I found the staff cute, providing helpful recommendations for local attractions. I felt valued. The room was large, the bathroom immaculate and well-appointed. The complimentary bottle of champagne was a GENUINE surprise because it was our honeymoon. The location provides easy access to both shops and restaurants. This greatly enhanced our stay.

The elevator was dated, and sometimes required manual door operation, a small inconvenience.

Breakfast featured excellent choices, especially the pastries that were of top quality. The attentiveness of the breakfast staff added to the good experience. Tea and port wine were available and this was a thoughtful touch. Quality was definitely noticed.

our double or twin room included separate beds and air conditioning that worked. housekeeping came daily and ensured the room was super clean. the staff was always helpful with directions and taxi information. we received an afternoon tea with pastries which i found good.

the water pipes in the bathroom made noise at NIGHT. it seemed water pressure changes occurred often. this noise disturbed a perfect sleep. i think the old plumbing requires immediate attention.

poor tvlimited breakfast

The tv selection was pretty dismal i must say. i mean, who has dvd players without any dvds? the staff acted like i was asking for the moon when i inquired. also, the breakfast was somewhat lacking. Nothing seemed to be cooked fresh. the warm options were scarce and the fruit selection was uninspired it seemed.
